About 140 km from Bangalore lies Mysore, a city rich in royal heritage and and close to renowed national reserved forests Bandipur and nagerhole. On the way to Mysore, Somanathapura features one of the finest preserved examples of Hoysala architecture. Other attractions in Karnataka include the ancient ruins of Hampi, the scenic Shivanasamudra Falls, Mekedatu Falls, and Hogenakkal Falls within 100 – 180kms from Bengaluru.
